A NATURAL GIFT FROM THE EARTH THAT CAN ASSIST AND MAY PROVIDE A NATURAL TREATMENT FOR RENAL DISEASE IN DOGS AND CATS (NUTRAMIN)

Kidney disease in dogs and cats often occurs in two main groups. The first group relates to a sudden failure of the kidneys referred to as ACUTE KIDNEY FAILURE. This generally will occur when a poison or a toxin that is ingested or from exposure to Leptospirosis by the patient, and through urine formation, the kidneys are damaged.

The second group relates to a slow deterioration of the functional units of the kidneys. In cats this condition is referred to as CHRONIC RENAL FAILURE. In dogs, this condition is referred to as CHRONIC KIDNEY FAILURE. This can happen through slow ingestion of toxins, heavy metals, poisons, chronic inflammation due to infection or an endocrine immune imbalance. Improper diet, containing poor quality protein, may also cause an excess use of the kidneys ability to breakdown and excrete increased amount of nitrogenous waste products. Once your health care professional has made this diagnosis, and with your help, the following treatment may be suggested.

CONVENTIONAL TREATMENT

Subcutaneous or intravenous fluids may be instigated to help perfuse the kidneys and help flush out the nitrogenous waste products. Note: If this is done for 48 hours, and the very elevated BUN diminishes only 10 to 15 points, there is a good chance that the kidneys are probably permanently damaged, and to continue therapy may cause unnecessary suffering and expense. Your health care professional will properly advise you.

A special diet is usually recommended. For many years, a low protein diet is recommended, as it is thought to reduce the "pressure" placed upon the remaining functional kidney units referred to as nephrons. I have always believed, that a more pure protein, in a small quantity, more frequently, would allow for less insult on the remaining nephrons. The diet needs to be low in phosphorus since with kidney failure, phosphorus retention occurs.

Often Omega 3 fatty acids are given and their anti-inflammatory action, can be enhanced when Vitamin E is also given, to help reduce any inflammation that is helping destroy the kidneys. A product called Calcitriol is often given due to advanced kidney disease, causing a lack of Vitamin D production. Tumil K may be needed, if the kidney disease causes the potassium levels to drop too low. Often the patient loses muscle mass, overall weight, and loss of appetite due to the elevated nitrogen level.

For those health care professionals that would like to use a more natural treatment to not only enhance normal treatment of patients with kidney disease, but also as a preventative treatment to help reduce the development of kidney disease. You may want to consider including the use of an advanced hydrothermally induced, earth created deposit, called montmorillonite.

There are a very few deposits occurring in the world, like this one, that comes from the mountains of Colorado and reaches the depths of the San Andres Fault, which maintains a water temperature of 880 degrees. This allows the micronutrient to lose one molecule of water, and create a negative ion that allows the micronutrient to enter the cell, through the cell membrane. It helps other essential nutrients, vitamins and supplements to traverse the cell membrane also.

Another very important feature of this special calcium montmorillonite is that it helps neutralize harmful toxic ions that enter the body, that contain positive charges. Here in California, these hydro thermal, chelated micronutrients have made their way to the surface of the earth as a sedimentary mushroom like deposit, on to the Colorado Delta.

The importance of these trace minerals, beside providing micronutrients that do not occur in overworked agricultural soils, is that they have been created in a chelated state, meaning that the body will not absorb any of these micronutrients, unless the body needs them. This deletes the possibility of over mineralization.

Over 30 years ago I used these micronutrients, in the form of a special calcium montmorillinite, to treat many different conditions occurring in dogs, cats, horses and birds. I also used it successfully with my friends and myself. There is a November 1985 article that was published for me in Pet Age Magazine discussing the product and what it did to help many veterinary diseases. Dr. Walter Bennett, PHD, a California University graduate professor released the following on an almost identical montmorillonite deposit and I quote:

It is a valuable food supplement as a source of most essential minerals.
It is an effective topical treatment for dermatological disorders.
It is an essential component for cosmetic and beauty aids.
It is a safe, effective dressing for burns, abrasions, lacerations and punctures.
It is a safe, fast, and effective remedy for gastro-intestinal distress.
"IT HAS NO CONTRAINDICATIONS TO HUMAN HEALTH".

This is what I have also found in the early 1980's in over 5000 patients. I have also found a use for this special calcium montmorillonite in helping with standard therapy, in dogs and cats with kidney disease.

The following will be a list of possible areas where this special calcium montmorillonite, might make a difference for your patient, while providing an additional natural supplement to enhance the nutrition health of your patient. We can only treat the clinical effects of a disease, but often the success or failure of our therapy, will depend on the overall health of the patient. Special calcium Montmorillonite will do this.

The elevated nitrogen, that builds up in the blood stream, may cause many problems, many of which have already been listed. The high level BLOOD UREA NITROGEN (BUN) can irritate the mucous membranes of the stomach and intestines, including the pancreas. Often Carafate is used to sooth this irritation. Calcium montmorillonite contains high levels of chelated kaolin, which will do a similar thing but with a natural product.

The irritation of the gastro- intestinal system causes nausea including vomiting and diarrhea. The natural kaolin will also help with this. It aids with absorption of normal foods while also "settling" the gut. It aids in the absorption of potassium and calcium which is in chelated state.

Another serious problem encountered with kidney disease in animals, comes from the retention of phosphorus that often occurs with kidney disease. The body tries to maintain a 1 to 1, or 1 to 2 ratio of calcium to phosphorus. When kidney disease causes retention of phosphorus, the body often will remove calcium from the bone in order to try to maintain a normal ratio, causing osteoporosis. Products like Amphogel and Maalox are used to help keep the phosphorus levels under control.

Why not include the use of a special calcium montmorillonite, which is very high in chelated calcium, and can make a difference in reducing the amount of bone loss that occurs due to the kidney retention of phosphorus. It is also used, extensively in people and animals that suffer from lack of bone density, referred to as osteoporosis, that do not have kidney disease.

So many scientist and researchers have found that with the use of this special calcium montmorillonite, it will allow for normal bone density to remain, while also correcting a state of diminished bone density. Scientific investigations were done to prove that normalization and re-calcification of bone density occurs with male rats, hamsters, mice, miniature pigs, kangaroos and all mammals. The investigations began with NASA.

The technical initiator and monitor of the project, was Dr. Paul A. La Chance. His technical assistant came from the Institute for Biological Research. Controlled studies by Benjamin H. Ershoff, PHD, were submitted to N.A.S.A., Manned Spacecraft Center, on The Physiological Effects of Dietary Clay Supplementation, using this special calcium montmorillinite.

N.A.S.A. had noted that astronauts, that experienced prolonged time in space, developed bone loss referred to as osteoporosis. Upon using this special calcium montmorillonite, bone loss did not occur.

Several laboratory studies were done by a major researcher, showing the antibacterial effect of this special calcium montmorillinite. The major researcher was Dr. Howard E. Lind, BS, MS, PHD, with a huge list of accomplishments including many research foundations that he headed. His work is available to read on page 252 to page 259, in a book written by Jason R. Eaton, called "Upon a Clay Tablet". Not only can this special calcium montmorillinite help stop bacterial action in the already damaged kidneys, but can also help neutralize toxic molecules that may continue the damage.

One more important feature of this special calcium montmorillinite, is use every day in the foods for pets, to help reduce the effects of toxins caused by food ingredients from foreign countries, containing dangerous contaminates that have cost many of our pets their lives. Renal studies, in allied species, indicate that montmorillonite, will help reduce elevated serum urea through increased excretion through the intestines. This was reported by the College of Medicine., Dept. of Pharmacology, Xi'an Jiaotong Univ., Xlan. etc.

I have found this to be a better way to enhance the treatment of kidney disease in both dogs and cats, even while still using traditional treatments. I have used this special calcium montmorillonite extensively in my practice, not only for renal disease, but for better health for all of my patients whether dogs, cats, horses, live stock, birds, wildlife, fish, and even for their owners. Just remember, today's soils are deficient in micronutrients, and without including a special calcium montmorillonite with each meal, for you and your pet, you may be able to eat better, but you will not be able to eat healthier.
